Hey guys! Welcome to Poetic Photosynthesis! My name is Myasi (pronounced my-yah-see). I am a 21-year-old undergrad at the University of South Alabama currently residing on the Gulf Coast. I bring Poetic Photosynthesis to you to inspire and promote inner growth while using my faith in God to pursue a joyful fulfilling life.
So exactly what does Poetic Photosynthesis mean?
Well, the name came to me literally at the crack of dawn when I woke up out of my sleep between 5 and 6 a.m. I still hadn’t had a name for this blog and while I laid there not understanding why I was awake so early, the word photosynthesis came in my mind, and poetic followed behind about an hour later. And it just made so much sense to me.
Let me explain.
It should be noted that science was never my best subject so I’ve always thought photosynthesis represented the process of growth in plants, but the actual definition of photosynthesis is a process used by plants to convert light energy from the sun into chemical energy that can be used to blah blah blah. Yeah that was boring, so I’m going to remix that definition and tell you how I see the photosynthesis process as it will relate to this blog.
I see our seed as our new beginning, our roots as our trials, triumphs, and successes, and the physical growth representing beauty in the process, all using the sun which represents God to give us our energy to keep growing!
Writing poetry has always been a therapeutic tool of mine I’ve used to push through painful emotions since I was 16. So to bring “Poetic” and “Photosynthesis” together just made sense.
I thought of inner growth as a process like photosynthesis, but graceful and authentic like poetry.
And that’s exactly what this blog will be, graceful and authentic.
I wanted to have a signature flower for poetic photosynthesis which will be a daisy, dedicated to the ultimate optimist Daisy Lewellyn whose radiating positivity has moved my spirit and inspired my inner growth tremendously.
I simply want to share that same inspiration with you to bloom into your full potential and live a joy filled life using the word of God to uplift you. So let’s bloom!
